The Firm

The firm of Fred J. Becker, Architect is a dynamic architectural, design/build and land use planning firm specializing in creating designs that are sensitive to the needs of Pacific North westerners. Fred Becker has a professional staff of five and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art 2 and 3 dimensional CAD designing and plotting capabilities. The firm offers in-house Architectural, Engineering and full Construction services and uses locally established Consulting firms according to specific needs of the client.

Fred J. Becker, A.I.A.

Originally born in The Dalles and raised in Madras, Oregon, Fred is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University School of Architecture. Fred served in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran. He has been practicing Architecture for the past 24 years as a General Practitioner and is licensed to practice in Oregon, Nevada and California.

Fred is very active in the community and has served on the Planning Commission for the City of Redmond; he was President of the Downtown Revitalization Committee; served as President for the Habitat for Humanity and chairs the Building Committee for the City of Redmond. Fred Becker is certified by the National Certified Architectural Review Board (NCARB) and is a member of the Redmond Kiwanis Club.

Terry Morgan, Construction Manager, Planner and Designer

Terry has 25 years of experience in the Design/Build industry. His combined training in Architecture, Engineering and Construction makes him a valuable resource. Terry’s successful history in design/build and construction management equips him with experience to build a variety of building types. In addition to his extensive knowledge of conventional construction, he builds energy efficient buildings.

Lawrence Schechter, Architect and Planner

Lawrence Schechter brings 36 years of innovative Architectural Design and Land Use Planning skills to the firm. Mr. Schechter specializes in "sustainable architecture", a concept that emphasizes using ecologically sound building practices. Mr. Schechter is licensed to practice in Oregon and California, and has served as guest lecturer at several international conferences.

Rick Murray, Project Manager

Rick, an Oregon resident since 1971, is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo and a former Naval Aviator and Vietnam veteran. He has been a BPA certified Energy Analyst and an Electrical Designer in Corvallis. He worked for Bell Heating in Clackamas and was the Technical Coordinator for Continental Energy Management in Portland. He also has held a General Contractor’s license. Rick’s responsibilities include project management for HVAC and Electrical design, as well as drafting services.

James Kroeker, Senior Draftsman

Jim is the firm's senior AutoCAD Draftsman and specializes in two- and three-dimensional drawings. Jim had previously worked as a licensed General Contractor and Journeyman Carpenter prior to becoming an AutoCAD draftsman, and has extensive hands-on experience in the building trades and is skilled in bidding and crew supervision. Raised in the Redmond area, Jim has also studied for two years at COCC.
