Update on Habitat for Humanity for July of 1999
Local Redmond HFH news:
"Triplex Nears Completion!
Excitement is building as Redmond Habitat for Humanity nears completion on the 23rd Street Triplex!
On Saturday June 26th, Redmond HfH Board Members and volunteers painted the second story trim of the entire building. Most of the work was in the air, and required a lift and scaffolding.
The triplex was built several years ago and the in-the-air painting project was one of the last tasks to complete before final sale to Habitat families. Each unit has 3 bedrooms, 1 ½ baths, and a fenced backyard. Paving and a parking area will be done this year, as well as the creation of a park-like setting for the three families ."

Local Bend HFH news:
"From Childs Dream of a Playhouse Comes a Familys Dream of a Home
To meet the need for affordable housing in our community, members of Central Oregon Builders Association partnered with Bend Habitat for Humanity in the building of three unique children playhouses. The playhouses will be raffled off at Bend Habitats Tenth Anniversary celebration on August 7, 1999, at high noon at Full Moon Drive. The three playhouses were designed by local architects and artists: Gabe Kubichek and Portia Murphy. The log playhouse design came from Oregon Log Homes in Sisters.
Parr Lumber, Miller Lumber, and Oregon Log Homes have stepped forward to make this event a reality by sponsoring the playhouses and donating the materials needed for their construction. With great commitment, local contractors Gerald Eischen, Leon Petz, and Alison Bublitz coordinated the playhouse construction. With labor of love, local volunteers and Habitat Care-A-Vanners diligently hammered a dream into reality.
Raffle tickets are available at the events below as well as from Parr Lumber, Miller Lumber, Bank of the Cascades, and Bend Area Habitat office. Playhouse tickets are $2.00 each or three for $5.00.
Raffle proceeds will directly benefit Bend Habitats commitment to address the need for affordable housing in our community." Article taken directly from Bend HFH Fax Transmittal, 6/28/99.
