June 15, 2000--"The cell phone artical is pretty interesting. They're outlawed in most of the corridors of the hospitals except the main [lobbies] because their RF could potentially interfer with monitoring equipment." Margie Roth, Scripps Healthcare, CA. August 17, 1999--"Maybe you should have a list of references on your website, or even a forum or guest book." Jamey, realtor in Bakersfield, CA We have a page that is considered a reference page previously named Local Companies. I changed this name to Local Companies/References so that it might be more helpful when looking for references. There are also references (resources) on the Links page which I renamed Links and Resources. I hope you find this helpful. If it is not what you are looking for please contact us again. Thanks! February 12, 1999--"The West Coast of the United States is one of the most seismically active regions in the world. Since 1906, the West Coast has had no less than six earthquakes of Richter magnitude 7 or greater. The 1964 Anchorage quake, one of the strongest ever measured, was strong enough to empty the water from Anchorage Bay, then send a tidal wave over 100 feet tall into the city of Anchorage, already devastated by the quake. The Anchorage earthquake was measured at 9.2 on the Richter scale. Ironically, probably the most powerful earthquake ever felt in the United States did not occur on the West Coast; it occurred in the mid-west in the early 1800's. The quake, which was believed to have originated in the Mississippi River basin, was strong enough to reverse the flow of the Mississippi River for more than 4 hours, and was strong enough to ring church bells in Boston. It is guessed that this quake was a magnitude 9.5 or more on the Richter scale. Scientists believe this quake was caused by a recoil action from the continental drift that originally positioned the North American continent in its present location. Trivia: Did you know that the largest single temperature drop ever recorded in the United States during a 20 minute period was 62 degrees? It happened in South Dakota in the 1960's--the temperature dropped from the low 70s to a frigid mid-teens when a powerful storm moved in." Written by Eric Porter from the office of Fred J. Becker, Architect. November 30, 1998--"An automobile driving 60 mph consumes 7 million times as much oxygen as a man does." "How long does it take a tree to provide enough oxygen for a man to live one day?" Fred J. Becker, Architect |
